Hanging with Hafiz
Your existence lasts but a nanosecond. The me of the body is barely a blip in time. What good can you do? You come into darkness then leave with hardly a whisper of hello-goodbye. You fear dying the whole time you are here. You tremble thinking about oblivion. You grasp for a god to save you. The great religions are ships taking on water. They have so many holes that you cannot see to stop the flow. Some people jump overboard. It is better to float on the open ocean than to bail water back into the sea. Lower a lifeboat. Let it carry you home. Your heart dances in joy as your true nature awaits your return.
