Hanging with Hafiz
Plumb the depths of your existence. What are you hiding from? Do you not recognize your innermost desires? Where do you hide your transgressions? Do you strive to be a perfect person, or do you cast yourself as a miserable wretch? Moment by moment, you make choices in between. You are many things to many people in a host of situations, but what are you truly? You are not a soul birthed separately from all else. You are not a homeless child waiting to be found. You are beautiful of body, soul, and mind, but this is not your reality. What are you? You are that which I AM. You are whole, complete, perfect, eternal; neither sacred nor profane. But you act confused. You complain. You feel lost in the brambles. The byways are busy with folks doing this and that but going nowhere. The vacancy sign glows at the inn. Yet, no one stops to rest. Open your heart. Look within. Free yourself from the world. Why love only the form of your being when your true nature stands ready to gather you to its bosom? Be its lover. Fall into the bliss of joy. Give in every way you can without thought. Make love with the beautiful soul that you are.
