Ruminating with Rumi
Words bring you to the door of the room within. There are no words beyond the door. That which lies within cannot be said. It is the peace and silence of unity. Without words there is no past and future, no judgment and hope. When you seek forgiveness, you are letting go of past and future. Muhammad said to seek forgiveness seventy times a day. In other words, bring yourself to center always. Be in the moment. You find the moment in the flowing of the river. To be in its flow is to be in the moment. Do not concern yourself with where the river has been or where it is going. Enter its sweet water here and now. The here and now of the river is consciousness in existence. It holds for you true intelligence and awareness. Your thoughts and emotions will die with the me of the body. Reality holds you in truth eternally.
It is better to listen than to speak without knowledge. To know brings silence to your lips. You hear and know. You do not desire. Do not blow out your flame by riding the winds of change. You are swept by expectations from this to that and back again, but you cannot know from such travels. The winds have covered you in the dust of the world. Your light is flickering. Enter the room within. Your flame still glows in darkness. See without dust in your eyes. Hear without words. You are no better or worse than all of existence. You, like all, are the way. Follow your true nature. Joy is your guide. The river’s course is your path. Peace of heart pillows your head as you dream on your journey home to the sea. You will awaken to the light that is I AM. It awaits your return to consciousness and its reality.
