Remembering (#215)
Reflections while wandering the way of the path:
Out of nothing comes something. Why? Why is there something rather than nothing is the existential question of the ages. Yet, there is an emptiness that is nowhere that is inexhaustible. It is the eternal field of infinite possibility. The room within holds such emptiness. From it springs your world. How you perceive life is the life you perceive. You are consciousness-expressing.
The me of the body is a blip of manifestation. It is not you. It is an experience of separation. Turn to the room within in all things. Therein lies your true nature. You are twia, not your body with all its feelings, emotions, and thoughts. These have no power but what you give to them in ignorance of your truth. What you gain from the world is of your own meaning. Twia knows. You bring knowledge to the world. The me of the body sees it as separate from itself. It does not have eyes that see. It is blind to reality. The power of the body is in twia. It has no meaning alone. Release the knowledge of the world. Turn within to twia. Twia knows your truth. I am that which I am: whole, complete, perfect, eternal. You have no soul to save. You are as is. Bring to the world loving kindness without attachment and you will truly be free. What the world offers is what you give to it. It has no meaning on its own.
You cannot be separate from totality. There is nowhere else. You did not come from anywhere. You are not going anywhere. You are eternal oneness.
Is life but a struggle for significance? Or is it is more a struggle for love? You gain significance to become someone who can be loved. If you gain enough of the world – wealth, power, knowledge, achievement – you will be loved. This is how the thinking goes, anyway. Love takes many forms: attention, affection, appreciation, acceptance. The me of the body seeks these in the world.
There cannot be time without separation. What space is there in oneness for time to flow? Time needs space. It is the distance between objects. To move from one object to another requires space and time, or spacetime. Without objects, there is no spacetime. Time is required in the series of events called existence. Your body forms as a collection of subatomic particles. It experiences events, dies, then decays, redistributing its particles into spacetime, ready to re-collect as other forms. This coming and going of objects and events produces time.
Life is lived in the moment. Be mindful of the moment you are experiencing. Do not live in the past or future. The past does not exist. The future will never be. Live in the moment. That is the way of the path.
Seek the valley. There all things flow. This is yin. The dark side of the mountain. It is the source of all being. It seems lost and hidden. Out of the way. Yet this valley holds all. Herein lies the whole of the all. It is the room within. It has no lack. No end. No beginning. The room within is empty. It lacks for nothing. It is all. The fertility of the valley is fed by the endless mountain stream. Leave the mountain. Seek the valley. This is the way.
There is a sacred sense of place, not on the ground you trod, but in the room within. Do not worship in the world. Hold space for truth within. All that you hold dear will vanish. Keep to the sacred within. Therein lies your truth.
Do not live for yourself alone. This is not the way. It quickly brings death. Release the me of the body to twia. Stop hanging on to hope that things will be better. They will not. You put yourself in the way of your own good when you care only for your own self. Turn to the whole of the all. Experience life as oneness. Abandon separation. You are not alone to go your own way. You are one with all. Live in harmony with all around you, then life is forever.
