Remembering (#202)
Reflections while wandering the way of the path:
Jesus is quoted to the effect, if you have ears to hear, then listen.
He and other wise teachers have said to live simply, without judgment or desire beyond the needs of the day. So, listen without expectations. What is true will reveal itself to those who hear with unplugged ears.
Give yourself to what flows in front of you. There is no need to force the river to come your way. It will find you. You are the low spot. Your home lies in the valley. There you are nurtured.
The ways of the world fill the days with desires and expectations. Do not possess them. Release the world by forgetting the past. Act on what arises, then let it go. In the Tao, this is to do nothing.
To act is to be engaged in the moment. To do anything more is to be engaged in the world. We do something to fulfill desires. When we act in the moment, we do nothing. Then twia is our guide. Act, then let go of the action. It is not yours to keep.
To act without desire or expectation is to do nothing. Be what is asked by the moment. Do not carry this action into the next moment. It has its own way. Leave it be.
Instead of creating, do nothing. Instead of supporting, say nothing. Instead of defining, accept. Instead of following, let go. To let go is to have much without possessing.
Rest in the room within without fear and regrets by doing nothing.
