Remembering (#2014)
Reflections while wandering the way of the path:
Days come and go. Moments are forever. Moments contain the whole of the all. They are heavy by nature, laden with wisdom, rooted in consciousness. They abide in the stillness of silence and peace. Days are restless, filled with desires and urgency. Live in the moment. Do Nothing. Let twia guide you. The way of the world is limited by days. The way of the path is eternal.
Twia lies at the center of the hub, unmoved, while the world spins around it, stirring up dust. The wheel may roll for days on end but twia never moves from the moment. Hafiz says, I felt in need of a great pilgrimage, so I sat still for three days. Abide in the stillness of heart. Avoid the restlessness of the world. Days are like flowers blowing about, petals drifting away in the wind. You, twia, are rooted in the ground of the moment.
As often said, a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. The journey of awareness begins by doing nothing. There is nowhere to travel to find awareness. It is in the moment. It is twia. In Darrell’s search for Self, I walked the journey of a thousand miles until I found myself back home, having never left, collapsed at the door to the room within. The journey is now, within, in the moment. Drop your baggage at the door and enter. Therein lies reality.
Reality has no movement because there are no objects or places to go. Movement comes with subatomic particles as they enter existence. The emptiness that is nowhere, or consciousness, has no movement or motion. It is unchanging.
Emptiness has no movement. It is eternal oneness. Motion is between objects. Oneness has no objects, except as illusion of separation. Movement arises as that of consciousness expressing thought. The thought is separation. The expressing is twia. The outcome is the universe, a cauldron of subatomic particles and the laws governing them. Particles popping out of emptiness is the substance of the dream that there can be separation in oneness. This illusion is not real. It is transitory existence that is consciousness expressing a thought in imagination. We are a dream, much like a child’s unicorn prancing in a field of flowers. Existence is a marvel, but it is the emptiness that is nowhere that gives it definition, for how can there be separation without oneness? Oneness knows itself by that thought. The Tao says that existence is a useful thing, but nonexistence makes it work.
For twia to show the way, we must be empty of our own desires. When filled with worldly pursuits, we are like a cup filled with mud. There is no room for sweet tea.
The moment will fail us if we desire something else. That desire may be past regrets or future hopes. Either way, we lose the moment. And it is in the moment that twia reveals the way.
What does it mean to be empty in the moment? From the Tao we learn to watch our thoughts that they do not wander, tend to the joy within, love always without attachment, let all situations take their own course, act with no expectations, and stop trying to control. This is done by clearing the inner room of clutter from the past and not dumping more stuff there from the future. To clear the room, forgive. Forgiveness is the dumpster that will haul away the trash. It is the scrub brush to clear grime from the walls and floors. A clean and ready room within holds the promise of new life. Be ready to be born again. Jesus would approve.
We are born into the dust of the world, but we do not have to live and die there. We limit ourselves by the meaning of life we take from the times in which we live. Otherwise, we have no meaning, and this is the key. We can change. There is no permanence in our lives. We can stop walking in the dust of the world and choose the way of twia. Stop living as the me of the body and dwell in the room within as the whole, complete, perfect, eternal being that you are. Walking the way of the path leaves no tracks in the dust of the world.
Resign from the world. The me of the body is not you. To embody the light that is twia, I am accepting, available, affectionate, and affluent in giving and receiving abundance.
What is life but the moment. Why linger where I am not.
Stop focusing through the lens of the me you are not. View the world through twia. The light of twia is radiant, not blurred by dust.
Have no plans. Let all things fall into place. Avail yourself of the moment. Be alert. Be open to possibilities. Take advantage of the opportunities that arise.
Do nothing. Act in the situation of the moment, then let go of the results without expectations or attachments.
Two men stepped off a train in a foreign land. The first said, we need a map to find out where we are. The second asked, what for? We are here. Be here. Follow the map that is twia.
Stop limiting twia with your own desires and expectations. They block the light that leads you.
The me of the body is blinded by the dust of the world. It has eyes that cannot see. View the world through the eyes of twia. Then you will have eyes that see. Let your light shine into the darkness and all will find their way.
