Random reflections from times with Rumi
Once upon a time, you did not exist. There were no universal building blocks gathered in your name. How you got here does not matter, nor does it matter that you exist only in this moment. You are not the material of the universe. You are the energy of its existence.
Remove yourself from the brambles. You have fallen along the way. What are you doing in this ditch? Does it suit you? What do the masters say? They teach the inner path. Follow their way back to the road. The brambles are not your home.
Listen for joy in all things. Joy is the way. Joy explores along the path. It seeks you everywhere. It brings ecstasy into each moment. You are this treasure within. You are joy, the pearl of great price. In ecstasy you know that which I AM, which is joy.
You are the flowing that is the river. By the surge of your own grace, you will reach the sea.
The light in you shines brightly, though you do not see its glow. You have forgotten your true nature. You hide it under a bushel. While you live in darkness, the light remains hidden. You may seek the light here and there, but it is not of this world. You must turn within to return your light to the stand for all to see.
The world does not light the way of the path. The light shines from within. The way of the world passes through shadows. Its nature is darkness. It holds the unknown. In body, you live in its shadows of ignorance and fear. You follow shapes in the night. They are imaginary dangers. The way of the path offers morning sunshine. It is the light of daybreak when friends greet friends without fear. Awaken to the rising sun.
You seek your own true nature. Ultimately you enter the room within as you remember twia. For now, you wander the world looking here and there for what cannot be found in existence. You seek I AM. It calls you as your true nature. You are consciousness existing. You are the whole of the all. Until the sheep lies down with the lamb, you remain separated and attached to fear.
Joy breathes not with words, but with silence. Do not stand in the square spouting words.
