Ruminating with Rumi
What is the point of it all? Why here? Why now? In the beginning there was no here or now. Spacetime had yet to happen. The universe arrived in nanoseconds out of an emptiness that is nowhere, exploding into particles that gathered into forms which come and go in and out of existence in an endless parade. You showed up in the parade here and now as the me of a body that goes by your name. This is not you. There is no here and now. All that you experience in form is transitory. You are eternal. The me of the body is an experience of separation in consciousness. To identify with the body is to experience pleasure and pain, happiness and sorrow. To know your true nature is to live in wisdom and joy as the whole of the all. You do not know your true nature until you turn within. Joy awaits you. Enter the room within when you are ready. Say, “Here I am. Feed me the fruits of the vine. Help me learn your ways. I seek your grace.” You have longed for this throughout your existence. Grief comes with longing. Celebrate pain and sorrow. Let joy spill from your broken heart. Joy is boundless, eternal grace received without effort. Do nothing. Arrive at the door empty and alone. You will be gathered into joy’s loving embrace.
