Ruminating with Rumi
You are not from this world. You are its maker. To say that you will someday return to your maker is to say that you will come to remember your true nature.
You are the light. There is no other. But your worldly desires pull at you. You are drawn to their expectations. In expectation you experience pleasure and pain, happiness and sorrow. Ecstasy overcomes you. Grief overcomes you. You are a mess. Remember twia. Twia knows the way without desire and expectation. To remember twia is to return to loving-kindness in the whole of the all and to experience peace of heart in all situations. Think of yourself as coming directly into the world as a ray of sunlight. You nourish the world and give it life.
