Contemplating a mystic poet
The me of the body is a false sense of reality. It encounters existence as if both were real. It is your encounter with the world that drives you to seek fulfillment. You cannot find fulfillment by eating the fruits of the world anymore than you can find nourishment in spun sugar.
You have no purpose. You give meaning to your own existence. The nature of your experience in body is to uncover your core of being. There is a place inside you that is not a place at all. Jesus said to knock and the door to that place would open. Yet there is no door. The place has no boundaries, no walls, no spaces through which to pass. To enter this place is to approach the mystery in silence while dropping your garments and the dust they have held for ages. The path you walk leads you inward. The mystery envelopes you as you disappear in form. You have no being. You are the nothingness of an empty vessel.
You have gained entry to the room within. It asks, “Who is there?”. Do you know? No, you do not. You have come to find out. To enter the room within is to listen and to be aware. Do not look away. Quiet your tongue. Be still and know.
You are planted firmly in the ground of your being. Your roots run deep. You seek the sunshine, the light of a clear blue day. Be nothing. Do nothing. You are the blank slate, the tabula rasa. Grow from your own seed from within. You have it all. Reach for the sun. Let out the breath. Draw in your vitality. Open to receive your joy in the light of knowing. Receive the crown of knowledge. From root to crown, from ignorance to knowing, you are I AM. You know this in the room within. You know that I AM is your true nature. Live from within. Act as I AM and not as the me of the body. Live in joy without desire. You live to survive the world and return to your true nature. Your roots hold firm along the way.
Do not stand rigidly against the wind. You will not defeat it. You will break and be blown into pieces. Instead, bend and wave with the wind. Follow its flow. Remain supple and you will find your way.
