Attending to Attar, Day 22
You may be the greatest of all saints among the most faithful, but even then, the journey within is not yours without forgoing all. Jesus shared this message with his followers, and it is expressed, too, by Attar in his Parable of Sheikh San’an in Love. You must lose faith in the ways of the world to find your way inward to your true nature. Release your attachments to this and that. Ritual and dogma do not open the door within. You must lose the self, which is your attachment to the me of the body, to forge ahead on your inner journey.
Jesus spoke of the greatest of loves, the love of all without fear. Love without fear is joy. Joy knows no time, religion, or practice. Joy unites the whole of the all. You are freed of faith in the world by the release of self. Then you can truly know joy. Joy is the expressing of love to all in unity with all. You are this expressing.
There is a battle in you between fear and love. You cannot imagine what it is to live without fear, yet you sense the joy that is your true nature. You can lie at the door of the room-within for ages, but there comes a time to knock. When you reach out to rap, you will find that the door has always been open to you. Arise! Entry is yours for the asking. No one is denied.
