Attending to Attar, Day 12
With thunder clapping across mountain crests, you fly out of the storm in drunken glee. From the highest peaks you swoop low into the valleys hauling your cherished treasures. You are legend for hoarding jewels. On these you feed. The fire in your belly melts them into blood and energy. But the hardships are many in your quest. Your desires are difficult to feed. Expectations of greatness run high. You crave blood-red rubies, glittering diamonds, and the greenest of emeralds. Nothing else is worthy of your time and effort. You know you cannot cross the threshold while ladened with your valuable cache. Yet, you cannot lay aside your hoarded gemstones. You ask of destiny, “What am I without my precious stones?”
Your greed runs high, but your treasure is worthless in the room within. In truth, you pick up rocks and call them gems. Your eyes are blinded by false brilliance. The stones you eat have hardened your heart. Leave the rocks. They are heavy and burdensome. You cannot lug them across the threshold. They bring your journey to a crawl. The power you gain from your avarice is fleeting. It has no place as you journey home. Abandon the treasures of the world. Find solace within. Your power lies in the wisdom and joy of your true nature. You are the one. Seek the source that you are. Your worldly treasures betray you.
