Contemplating a mystic poet
Early each morning, I sit in my chair of contemplation with Rumi’s poetry in hand. This Sufi mystic of the 13th century teaches me to do less and less in the world. One day, I will arrive at doing nothing. To do nothing will be to accomplish all. In accomplishing all, I will find no further need to meddle in the ways of the world.
I have found that the ways of the world are best left to themselves. Instead, I seek the way of the path, which leads to the room within. Herein, I have no need to stir and move about. Twia guides me. Wisdom casts its light on the path, and I know that I AM is all.
By releasing the ways of the world, I know less and less each day. One day I will truly know that I do not know. Then I will stop using words to say what cannot be said. Meanwhile, I contemplate and share the words that come to me. Contemplating Rumi’s words, I hear him say:
You do not know the way of the path. It lies under corruption and greed. This is the dust of the world. The dust clouds your vision. You cannot see. The path of knowledge is buried in dust, and you are lost.
Do not fear. You cannot be removed from consciousness. You are planted firmly in its ground of goodness. This is the source of your being in existence. You are nourished fully and abundantly from the room within, which is your true nature. You are that which I AM
To live abundantly is to know the power in you that is I AM. That power is your protection. It nurtures you always. Consciousness does not abandon itself. Your struggle comes from ignorance of I AM, which is your true nature. To be ignorant is to walk the way of the world. Those who walk the way of the world push against the river, trying to control its flow with desire and expectation. Release the flow to its natural course. This is to walk the way of the path in wisdom and joy.
Why meddle in others’ affairs? Do you not have enough to do with your own? It is best to do nothing. Be still in the silence of the room within. To release desire and expectation will improve the lot of us all. Live simply, close to the ground of your being. Walk softly. Leave no trace. All will be better for your non-action.
To walk the way of the path is to live simply and sparingly. Live without desire and expectation. To walk the way of the path is to live abundantly in twia. Twia knows the way without contention and strife. Twia is unlimited. Twia has no boundaries. Twia is the ground of goodness in which you are firmly planted. From the ground of goodness, grow into consciousness. To grow into consciousness is to remember twia by living simply and peacefully from within.
You are not here to harm the world. Recognize the whole of the all. There is nothing evil about you, nor is there good. Do not stir the pot with desire and expectation. Walk the way of the path. Follow your true nature. Live in joy and wisdom as you are. Experience existence with peace of heart always.
