Attending to Attar, Day 42
“Woe is me,” you say. Alas, you feel that the only luck you have is bad. How can this be? Yet, you spend your days lamenting your lot in life. You swear there is a dankness that permeates your bones. “Where is the joy?”, you cry out. Steeped in such misery, you fear you cannot venture forth on the path. The journey within is not for you. Well, nuts to that! You soak in sorrow as if it were your natural way. Don’t you know that nothing in the world is permanent? Step back. Take a breath. Abandon your expectations of defeat. Break the bonds that hold you to your woes. Pain and sorrow are not the way, nor are pleasure and happiness. These are the ways of the world. You are the joy that you say eludes you. Joy cannot abandon you. You are joy. You have turned a blind eye to your true nature and now you suffer. Enter the room-within. Joy awaits your return.
