Attending to Attar, Day 61
You are on a quest, wandering about searching for something. To you it is a mystery. Each twist and turn of this worldly path brings a new trial. Calamities upend your expectations. Desires go unmet. Wishes remain dreams in a lifetime of pleasure and pain, happiness and sorrow. In this world of the me of the body you appear as ordinary as the dirt on the ground. Face it. You are not important, nor is the stuff you hoard as treasure. You are attached to your own existence by Marley’s chains. This existence is not your true nature. You are not the me of the body. Like the world in which you live, your life is an illusion in a sea of existence, which is but a thought of separation in consciousness. You have given sweat and blood to worldly ways only to realize that you must release it all and stand empty at the doorway to the room-within. Jesus said that it is harder for a rich man to enter the kingdom than for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle. Release all. Stand naked on the threshold of your own reality ready to enter. You are the one. There is no other.
