Ruminating with Rumi
Nothingness is the emptiness that is nowhere, or consciousness. Consciousness is nothingness. From consciousness comes all totality. In existence, totality is the whole of the all. The whole of the all comes from nothing. It is consciousness in existence.
There is newness every day in existence. Greet each day, each moment, anew. Desire knocks at your door. Expectations arrive unannounced. They are thoughts drifting about. Let them in. Do not deny their entry. They are persistent. They linger as pleasure and pain, happiness and sorrow. Treat every pain and sorrow honorably. Do not think they will linger any more than pleasure and happiness. You wish pleasure and happiness would move in permanently, so you fear their leaving. The body and soul with its guests is your earthly home. Be its keeper without accepting it as real. Your guests do not need to be fed. Do not be their host. They can be parasites. Witness their presence like the air in the room. Have no concern. Express joy from within. Hold peace of heart in all situations. Neither deny your guests nor accept them as real. They are not you. You are the whole of the all. You are the emptiness that is consciousness-expressing. You are I AM. There is no other. Know this and live it, each and every moment.
