In contemplation
Who am I?
This is one of the great existential questions. Mystics and philosophers have struggled with it for centuries. Let us contemplate some of their teachings.
Day 2
You do not know who you are. You do not know what to seek. The world cannot answer the question of your true nature. What you seek will find you in the room-within. Herein lies that which I AM.
You can compare and define the me of the body, but not your true nature. Release the body. Let it go. It is not yours to keep. Use it. Live in it. But do not attach to it.
Bring into focus that which I AM. Let I AM lead the way. You are not alone standing in a field of uncertainty. Focus your awareness inwardly. See with eyes that see through the cloud of unknowing. Attend to the still silence within. Its voice is your own. Listen to your true nature. You are awareness in the sea of awareness that is consciousness.
You do not produce consciousness. Consciousness is absolute. Your existence in consciousness is relative to your experiences as the me of the body. You flutter about in form like a butterfly moving among flowers in a garden. You flit here and there touching this and that with desire and expectation. To what end but pleasure and pain, happiness and sorrow. That is the nature of the me of the body. You are experiencing consciousness in existence.
Know that you are not the me of the body with all its worldly ways. Do not focus your awareness on the world expecting to find your true nature. Enter the room-within. Let your true nature come into focus. You are consciousness in existence. Acknowledge its presence in you. Follow its path. It knows the way. The way is without words, just awareness.
