In contemplation
Who am I?
This is one of the great existential questions. Mystics and philosophers have struggled with it for centuries. Let us contemplate some of their teachings.
Day 1
Seek not to find yourself but rather to know the way within. In you lies the path to knowing your true nature.
You are not what you perceive. You perceive illusion. Your reality is beyond perception.
You exist. You were born into perception. Perception is the way of existence. Your perception of existence is real to the me of the body, but this is not you. Your existence is illusion in the reality of consciousness, much like a unicorn in your mind.
You appear as the me of the body. You experience your existence in a world of separation. You are attached to this and that. You sense that you are your personality with all its thoughts, emotions, attainments, and connections with people, places, and things.
Know that you are not your personality. Know that you are not your body with its attachments to this and that. Your reality is not the world in which you exist. To say you are this or that is to separate. In you there is no separation. You are the whole of the all. This cannot be perceived by the me of the body.
You experience the world through the senses of your body. You experience existence as your personality. Its experiences belong to you. Without you experiencing, what is existence? Your experiences become your perceptions. Your perceptions are illusions in the reality of consciousness.
Remember, you are the whole of the all. As consciousness in existence, you are like a sole molecule in the sea of molecules that is the ocean. You are the water.
