Ruminating with Rumi
You are nothing. Nothing is the emptiness that is totality. You are the energy of existence. You are consciousness expressing the illusion of separation. Your body is a boat floating on the waters of separation. You live in this boat on a sea of illusion. The boat will sink. You are the endless nothingness that is everything.
From within, twia calls. Twia is the energy of existence, the flowing of the water on which your boat sails.
You are not of the body. The body is of you. Do not hide in pleasure and pain, happiness and sorrow. Open the door to the room within. Your joy cannot be hidden in the light of your radiance. Live openly with joy and wisdom. Hold peace of heart in all situations.
You cannot hide. You cannot run far enough or fast enough to escape fear. Instead, slip into the still silence of the room within. The me of the body lives in a world of its own making. It is ignorant of your true nature and fearful of its oblivion at death. Your true nature is wisdom and joy.
Enter the room within. Sit in the still silence that is twia. Alone with twia, you find peace of heart. Herein, you touch the eternal in the emptiness that is nowhere. Live from this place in the world. Do not look upon this and that with judgment and hope. See the whole of the all. Hear its harmonies. Look upon yin and yang nestle as one in union and joy. There is no separation, but in mind. Be witness to your perceptions. Do not accept them as real. Look upon all with eyes that see. Do not be blinded by the dust of the world. Knowing your truth, you are free to walk the way of the path in wisdom and joy.
Receive all with an open heart. Do not deny your abundance. You are abundant and free. Do not deny this with judgment and hope. Do nothing. Stay with twia. Empty yourself of desire and expectation. Your quest for happiness is futile. Pleasure escapes you. Sorrow and pain are your companions. Sweep them all out the door. Clear yourself to receive your true nature. The breath of twia is within. Breathe deeply in rhythm with nature. Do not be wrapped up in self-importance. The me of the body has no meaning or purpose but that which you give it. Change your thoughts about yourself. As you adapt to your new beliefs, your world will change. Twia will awaken in you. It is in twia that you are set free of the world. You cannot imagine this. You must sit in the still silence of the room within and know.
Attend to the room within. Keep it swept and clean. It is there to serve you. Treat it well. Others may say to not concern yourself. They will do the work for you. This cannot be done. You are the one, the only one who knows your own way on the path to twia. Follow your own steps, not those of others.
You are eternal. Your body is transitory. You are not its mind, thoughts, or emotions. Any exchange between you and me is separation. To walk the way of the world is to trip on stones and be snagged by briars. You can give yourself over to God for comfort and protection, but in the end, you will find the way of the path, which leads to the room within. The room within is without this and that. Separation does not abide in silence. It is the noise of the world. Enter the room within. Sit in the still silence that is your true nature. Consciousness has no qualities to distinguish one from another. The thought of separation in consciousness is your existence in the world. You derive pleasure and pain, happiness and sorrow as long as you accept its reality. It is not real. It is transitory. When it ends, you are gone. This is the oblivion you fear. Fear not, you are eternal. Your reality is I AM. Whole. Complete. Perfect. Eternal. There is no other.
Enter the room within. Sit in the still silence. Find harmony in the whole of the all with eyes that see and ears that hear. Be blind to this and that. Do not listen to the din of the world. Desire is not the path. Find unity in the whole of the all. There is a voice in the silence that is your own true voice, the voice that is twia. Listen to twia with ears that hear. Follow twia with eyes that see. You are the way. Let your light goes before you into the world.
The me of the body has need of survival and fulfillment. Desire to satisfy these needs engenders expectations. Expectations are the fuel for pleasure and pain, happiness and sorrow. Desire can dominate your life. Desire is like a dog at bay. It can slip in an open door. It can sink its jaws into its prey and not let go. Life becomes littered with thorns while looking for roses. Pleasure comes with pain. Pain holds out hope for pleasure. These are the ways of the world. You did not begin in the world. Neither will you end here. Do not walk its path of desire. It cannot provide what already is yours. You are not of the world. Your world is of you. Live it through twia.
