In contemplation
Who am I?
This is one of the great existential questions. Mystics and philosophers have struggled with it for centuries. Let us contemplate some of their teachings.
Day 13
Your world reflects your thoughts and attitudes. It is what you think it is. You make the world in which you live. Changing your thoughts and attitudes changes your world. The world is more in you than you are in the world.
Look within. Reflect. Gain awareness. To be aware is to consider your inner nature rather than worldly ways. The me of the body is ignorant and fearful. Your inner nature reflects wisdom and joy. Stay true to your inner nature. Reflect your awareness in the world.
Awareness is your true nature. You are discrete awareness in the sea of awareness that is consciousness. Consciousness is absolute. It is aware and intelligent, although it cannot be described.
To be aware is to sense that you are more than your existence. The me of the body is not your reality. You are consciousness in existence. To accept your state of existence as real is ignorance. Ignorance brings about pleasure and pain, happiness and sorrow. When you recognize your transient nature, then you open the door to realizing that you are not ignorance and fear. You are wisdom and joy. That knowledge brings peace of heart in all situations. You are aware of your reality and reflect it in the world.
Awareness goes beyond thought. You must have eyes that see to visualize the whole of the all that is consciousness in existence. The me of the body sees only separation. It does not know that you are that which I AM. To go beyond the body, enter the room-within. Herein you find awareness. Reflect on its power from within. It will open your mind to the unity of all that is your true nature. You are the one. There is no other. The eyes of the world are blind to this reality.
