Attending to Attar, Day 66
Do not let death stalk you. You cannot kill the dead, and you were dead when you were born. Birth and death are the way of existence. Your longing for the me of the body will consume your life in passion for the ways of the world. To walk the way of the world is to gamble with death. It lurks in the brambles along life’s road. Flee from death’s gaze. Detach from the world. Unlock the chains which bind you to your treasures on earth. To lie on your deathbed is to submit to the world of your existence. You allow your life to slip from one existence to another. You are holding back from your true nature. Avert your eyes from death. They do not see. Do not heed death’s call with ears that do not hear. Do not yield to life’s end until you hear the word, “enter.” Then you will know to step through the doorway of the room-within. Herein lies the eternal. You have no existence in consciousness. You are the whole of the all. You are that which I AM. There is no other. The me of the body has no value. Your soul has no value. Release them back into the eternal. They are but figments of your existence. There is no demand on you to do this. You will know when you are ready to enter the room-within.
