Ruminating with Rumi
Do not look for words to say. What you wish to be said comes to you within the silence. Knowledge comes not with words but spills out as light from a heart broken open and ready to receive. The ears that hear know without telling. It is not for you to say. Jesus told those who received, to go and tell no one. You are here to receive and know without speaking. There are no rules for this. As Rumi says, “the ocean diver does not need snowshoes.” Each in their own way finds the path. When you find that this and that come together, you have no words. In the whole of the all, the mirror has nothing to reflect and the flute has no notes to play. Nothing is as you thought it to be. Listen to the silence as found in the stones and trees, as well as in darkness. In the silence, you receive the light within all.
The way within is personal. Do not waste time talking about it. To know twia is your own experience. It cannot be shared. To share is to lose touch with reality. Do not fret about the ways of the world. Live in the world from within. From within you will know the way that is yours to walk. Choose your steps wisely. Do not rush forward. Tread softly upon the land. Leave no trace. Open to twia. Be free of pleasure and pain, happiness and sorrow. Release them to joy. To live in joy is to keep quiet. In silence you will know the way.
