Attending to Attar, Day 85
Your longing for the mystery has no remedy. Do not seek a cure for this dilemma. Stay vigilant in the moment. Learn to desire without expectation, then you will know the way that leads within. For now, you are lost in the dust of the world. You may hear words of wisdom and gain understanding, but you are blind to the way. The words are like brambles along your worldly path that must be pushed aside. You are entangled in them without a way out. You have yet to know which actions to take. Attar offers wisdom like pearls pulled from the sea. They are scattered on the path for you to pick up, one by one. Maybe Attar’s pearls will lead you to action, maybe not. His “Conference of the Birds” can help you to move forward if you choose. Attar is the moon reflecting light on the path. Rumi says that in Attar’s light he casts but a shadow. You, on the other hand, have no idea.
