Ruminating with Rumi
To look upon the whole of the all is to close your eyes to the other. There is no other in the all. Smoke from burning sage wafts from the emptiness of its bowl. There is no separation between smoke and emptiness. One fills the other. Which is the other? Neither. They cannot be seen in separation.
Have no opinions or thoughts on matters of the world. You do not know. You eat, you drink, you die. Yet, you are the flowering of the moon in the sky. Live as you are. Do nothing. Reflect the light that is I AM.
There is movement in you that is the stirring of your soul. You feel its flow. It is the river of life. Move with the river. Do not step from its streaming. Do not follow the ways of the world. Let the river find its path. The blind cannot show you the way. Put aside your attempts to change course. Your will cannot find the sea alone. You become a fish rotting on the bank. Be the fish in the water. Follow the current. See how easy it is! It is fun to be alive when you follow the flow, stay out of the eddies, and let the river carry you freely. Give no thought to direction. Feel the water following its natural course. This is the way of the water on its path. Like the whole of the all, it knows the way of the path. You are not separate from the harmony of all. You are I AM. There is no other.
