In contemplation
Who am I?
This is one of the great existential questions. Mystics and philosophers have struggled with it for centuries. Let us contemplate some of their teachings.
Day 11
You live in a dream of separation. Your world is a false reality. The dream seems real, but when you awaken there is unity in all.
All of nature is consciousness in existence. Work toward its common good. Desire goodness and the world will follow. What is good depends on you. How do you see it? What leads you to happiness? Where do you find sorrow? Observe. Be aware of the nature of your emotions and the actions to which they lead. You cannot abandon the ways of separation if you do not know them.
Concentrate. Delve into the mystery. You find out who you are by knowing who you are not. If you accept that you are not your body or its personality, then your true nature can be revealed.
You have always been the reality that is I AM, which is whole and eternal. When you accept that you are not the me of the body you are free of it. When you are free of the self and its worldly ways, then you are free to remember your true nature. To remember your true nature is to realize who you are.
There is nothing that you need to be other than who you are. You are the awareness of consciousness expressing separation. You are the expressing that is existence. You are the dancing that is the dance.
When you are ready, enter the room within. Sit in the still silence. Focus on I AM. Witness your thoughts and emotions. Watch over your words and actions. Be aware always of your true nature.
The way stretches before you. The way is to remember that you are not existence. You are the expressing that is existence. You are neither the dance nor the dancer. You are the dancing. You are the energy of existence.
