Contemplative meanderings
Consciousness cannot be explained. Words separate. Consciousness is totality. To say “totality” implies “non-totality”, and therein lies the rub. Words are what we have in separation. Words are given meaning, and it is these meanings that are applied to consciousness. Otherwise, consciousness has no meaning. Your thoughts give meaning to the world you experience as separation.
You cannot separate from consciousness. Separation is an illusion of thought. What you see with your bodily eyes is not consciousness itself but a reflection of the meanings that you have given to the thoughts which you have collected as your world. You are discrete awareness in the pool of awareness that is I AM. Existence is your seeming reality as the me of the body. This reality is not solid. It is reflective of the moment. It is relative to your perspective. It has no meaning but that which you give to it.
Your seeming reality as the me of the body is illusion. Words cannot describe true reality, which is consciousness. The words of illusion do not suffice. They are words of this and that. They separate when consciousness is whole, complete, perfect. Physics is the voice for describing the physical properties of the universe. Metaphysics is the voice for describing consciousness. Metaphysics paints pictures where words fail alone. With a palette of figurative expressions, metaphysics offers a portrait of what cannot be described literally.
The me of the body cannot see the eternal. What you see as your seeming reality in the world will change. What is true here may not be true there. Here and there are relative to perception. Consciousness cannot be perceived. It is unchanging. The seeming reality of illusion is indefinite. It changes with perception. How you perceive here may not be the same as you perceive there. A shift in perception can change your world and its seeming reality. Do not look upon the world as real.
Consciousness is described in many ways with many words. The words are signposts that point to the destination. They are not the destination. The destination presents itself without words. It has no name, no distinctions, no place. It is emptiness that is nowhere. It is reality.
Consciousness is totality. There is nothing outside of consciousness. There is no this and that. There is no you and consciousness. You are consciousness, both in form and in reality. There is no separation between you and reality, even in form. What appears as form is illusion. That illusion is existence as you know it. You are not the illusion that is the me of the body with its thoughts and emotions.
Existence is a thought in consciousness that cannot be real, like a child’s unicorn. The eternal field of infinite possibility displays illusion like a dream. The objects in the dream represent separation and manifest as existence. You know it existence as the universe. As a form in spacetime you experience the objects in the dream as real. This and that are your reality in a world of separation. As the me of the body, you see yourself as independent and objectively real. You see existence as outside of yourself when in truth nothing can be outside of your true nature. The world you experience in form is illusion.
