Ruminating with Rumi
You do not know what is true. What you think is true comes from the past and may not hold in the future. Truth is present in the moment. You know in the moment what you think is true. Truth is relative to your perceptions from the past as you perceive them in the moment. There is no certain truth that you can know as the me of the body. This is the scary part about being alive. Nothing is certain and you want certainty. You want to know your place in the scheme of things. As you struggle for meaning and purpose, you discover more uncertainty. Uncertainty is the nature of your existence. The me of the body cannot arrive at some absolute truth that is not transitory, so you fit your life into the truths you perceive and live with them until they change. Change in what you think is true is inevitable. That is why you can change your world. You can change what you think is true. You have the power to alter your perceptions. They are not fixed. Your world is up to you.
