The Cloud of Unknowing
That which I AM—my attention, my awareness—wanders about in dreams, then returns to the place that it left as I fell asleep. During the day, this mostly is in a chair where I read. Sometimes reading is an exercise in staying awake. As I write these words, I have just returned from a fantastic journey to who knows where, because I seldom remember my dreams. When I return from these adventures, I sit for a while, absorbed in knowing that I am back, but not fully. I like the silence of waiting while my mind is still blank. There is much that I learn in this moment of emptiness that cannot be said.
What is learned in silence cannot be said because ignorance is the nature of the me of the body. You exist without knowing. Knowing comes from within. It resides in the silence, not in the din of the world. The world runs on fear. You are the joy within. Turn away from the din of the world. Enter the room within. Herein lies the wisdom and joy that is your true nature. You are not the me of the body. You are that which I AM. There is no other.
To remember twia is to recognize and know your true nature. You have never been separated from that which I AM, even in your dreams. You have only forgotten as the me of the body. To forget is to be ignorant. To be ignorant is to fear. To fear is to seek fulfillment by using desire and expectation. Desire and expectation fuel pleasure and pain, happiness and sorrow. Pleasure and pain, happiness and sorrow lead to suffering. To suffer is your worldly curse. Do not suffer. Do not desire pleasure and happiness. Without desire there is no expectation. Without expectation there is no pain and sorrow. Desire and expectation come from judgment and hope. Remove the past and future. Live in the moment. To live in the moment, enter the room within. Herein lies your true nature. You are that which I AM. Remember twia. To know twia and to follow twia is to be fulfilled as wisdom and joy in the whole of the all.
