In contemplation
Who am I?
This is one of the great existential questions. Mystics and philosophers have struggled with it for centuries. Let us contemplate some of their teachings.
Day 41
There is nothing manifested or unmanifested in consciousness. Consciousness is an eternal field of infinite possibility. Nothing is coming or going. Consciousness is whole, complete, perfect as is.
So, what is real when there is no unreal? Nothing. The unreal is illusion. Manifestation is a product of illusion. It occurs in the world of separation with its comings and goings.
Separation cannot be real. It is illusion. All manifestation in existence is illusion. All that is caused or created is illusion.
Consciousness is an emptiness that is nowhere. It has no comparison. It cannot be described. It has no qualities. To say it is real is to live in existence.
Reality is cloaked in a shroud of ignorance and fear. Reality is seen through the cover of darkness. Imagination fills the darkness looking for light. Your world becomes the reality you imagine it to be. Your reality in existence is a false perception.
The me of the body perceives reality as objects in spacetime controlled by the laws of the universe. It perceives separation. Separation is illusion in consciousness.
Consciousness cannot be added to or subtracted from. It cannot be scattered in parts and pieces as the universe seems to be. You experience the universe as existence. Existence is illusion, not reality.
But then again, there is no reality when there is no separation. Consciousness is neither real nor unreal. It cannot be defined.
