Hanging with Hafiz
The world is of your own making. You complain about your own foolishness. Your own choices drive you crazy. Why do you search for abundance in the world when you are nourished from within? That is like giving up bread and wine for spun sugar. The room-within is never too busy to receive your awareness. In your longing for this and that you have wandered alone into a desert. Thirsty, you seek a way out. Do not complain. You brought yourself here. You want compassion and sympathy for a life of your own making. The door to change is open. Enter when ready. From within, you will know the joy you seek. Be smart about it. Stop using your mind to reason through life. Open your heart to your own wisdom. To judge, hope, and desire sets a fuse to a powder keg of troubles and sorrow. As the lyrics in Blaze Foley’s song “Clay Pigeons” suggest, “change the words to (your) song and start singing again.”
