Who am I?
This is one of the great existential questions. Mystics and philosophers have struggled with it for centuries. Let us contemplate some of their teachings.
Day 58
Having never separated from your true nature you cannot reunite. There is no separation in consciousness except as illusion. You perceive a separate me of the body where there is none.
When you ask, who am I, what is it that you are seeking? Your true nature cannot be found in the world. It does not exist.
Stop searching for who you are. You are not lost. You have forgotten that you are real. You are what you seek. To know yourself is to awaken to your own reality. To awaken is to remember that you are that which I AM.
Stop thinking. Let go of the words. They may have brought you here but now they are in the way of your remembering. Return to peace of heart by entering the room-within. Find out what it is that you never lost. Find out what it is that never left you. Embrace that which was there before the beginning and will remain after the end. To enter the room-within is to leave worldly ways behind. Free of the world, you once again are in your natural state.
You desire pleasure and happiness. You fear pain and sorrow. These are obstacles to knowing your true nature. They are your reality only as the me of the body. See past them to know peace of heart in all situations. Leave your desires and fears at the threshold of the room-within. Herein lies your natural state of being, which is I AM.
