Note
Hafiz is another in the line of celebrated Sufi poets from Persia. We attended to Attar (1145-1221), ruminated with Rumi (1207-1273), and now are hanging with Hafiz (1325-1390).
Hanging with Hafiz
A menu of foods represents their delights, but the menu is not the food. Eat the food, not the menu. The menu is representation, not bread and wine. To live in a world of words is to eat the menu. Words do not nourish. To receive nourishment, go within. Herein is the meat that feeds. Feed on the joy within that is love without fear. It is not enough to love. You must abandon fear. To love without fear is joy. Joy is your true nature. Love is your expression. You are the expressing that is love. Express love in the world with kindness through joy. The form love takes does not matter. The form is inconsequential. The expressing of love is everything. Love takes the form you give it.
