Renewal! Who does not seek renewal. You know there is more and so you seek. You tug at love hoping to pull it to your side. Then fear wins out and you fall face-first into the mud pit. This too often is life’s tug-of-war. Two ends of a rope grasped by fear and love. When fear overcomes love you are left with heartache. When fear mixes with love there is passion as desire stokes the fires of expectation. Passion craves beauty and pleasure as sorrow waits in the wings. The flames of passion consume you in a world of pleasure and pain, happiness and sorrow. This world leads to death. But there is an ember of eternal joy within where love lives without fear. The ember’s glow guides you along the path as you seek. Renewal comes one day on a fresh morning breeze smelling of lilacs and roses. Your senses are alive. You have eyes that see and ears that hear. Your heart abandons desire. Expectations fall to the ground like unlocked chains. You are lighter and taller in the warming sun. You have learned to live from within. The tug-of-war has ended. You no longer seek. Fear is removed from the love you express, and you are left with peace of heart in all situations. This is joy. Joy is love without fear. Joy is your renewal.
