Is there a common good? Is there a wholeness to humanity worth struggling to support? Why should one person care about another? To what end does another serve you? Why bother with others? Fortunately, there are those who care for others. They do exist in this ole world of ours. Some are noted for their works. Many go about with loving kindness unnoticed, mostly. A few hide their good works. They can be looked upon as unworthy in their seeming innocence. If you think there is a common good, then so much the better. If you do not, does it matter? You will live alone in your selfishness. Time will take its toll. You will become hard and brittle. Then you will die. Who will care? No one knew you. You never let them in. Those who give and bend live long in community.
Joy is your true nature. Hold to joy always. Joy returns you to the eternal. In the midst of joy lie all possibilities. From joy arises loving-kindness. If all lived in joy, there would not be kindness. If there were no separation, there would be no oneness. Once you sacrifice joy to happiness, then sorrow arises. If you abandon joy, then pain arises. With pain comes pleasure. To know other than joy is to invite suffering. To suffer is to walk the way of the world. In your suffering, return to joy.
Perception stole your joy. You lost sight of twia. You let appearance of separation turn joy into happiness and sorrow, pleasure and pain. Then you gained loving-kindness to ease the way. Your cleverness and greed turned you sour. You have been misled. Rituals and formalities hold little promise. Instead, hold to joy always. Remember twia. With eyes that see you will find your joy. It was never lost.
Let simplicity be your way. Hold to unity. Do not let desire separate you from the whole of the all. You cannot be removed. Make less of yourself. The world has enough self-serving kindness. Your wisdom is unheeded. Your harmony grates. Return to the valley. Come down from the mountain. Leave what you have gained to the thieves. You cannot lose is lost. Be simple. Possess little. Do nothing. This is the way of the path.
To enter the room within you must live in the world. The eternal has no within. Learn to live through twia. Let this be your natural expression. Sit in the still silence of the room within. Do nothing. Let twia come to you. Express joy. Hold peace of heart. Live without contention.
